Renowned political fiddler and Ohio GOP party Chairman Bob Bennett is living the old cliché that says in politics fortunes can change in a moment.

Less than six months ago he was looking at hand-picking another Republican Governor, extending GOP dominance in the legislature and was still basking in the national exposure brought to his political empire during the victorious 2004 Presidential election.

Now, due to a major scandal that led to four ethics related misdemeanor charges against current Governor Bob Taft and what is sure to be a party splitting primary for the 2006 GOP gubernatorial nomination Bennett’s empire is in jeopardy.
